Time is in His Hands
I find the idea of being late stressful. I experience feelings of FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), and the thought of inconveniencing people makes me uneasy. As a mum, I try to instil my value of being on time in my children. Our lives are filled more and more with activities that seem to take up every last minute we have and yet somehow, we still miss out on important opportunities.
When I read through the story of Jairus and his daughter, I notice that Jesus appears to be too late to heal Jairus’ daughter. She dies while Jesus is delayed. Jesus is a busy man; His time is filled with the distractions of people who all have pressing needs. In this instance, the distraction came in the form of a woman bleeding for 12 years. She is healed and Jairus’ daughter is later raised from the dead. As I reflect on this, I am encouraged to know that Jesus’ power is far greater than time restraints. God is able to use our time for His glory in all circumstances and sometimes that means being distracted or late.
