A God Who Moves
There are some shows I keep coming back to. Some books that I pick up again and again despite knowing the following line. Some stories that calm my anxieties, fade out my fears, and remind me of special things or truths that warm and comfort me. Harry Potter is one of those; Gladiator is another; and stories of people’s conversion are a third.
Remembering who it is God is. Remembering how it is that He is at work – even in the most unlikely of places and least likely of people. In a foreign prostitute, a widow in a strange land, and a passionate, violent, misguided zealot. In a year 8 girl who is getting bullied at school, in a 6-year-old whose father is aggressively anti-god, in a year 10 student who is looking for love and purpose in all the wrong places. And yet God… chose to move people into their lives, that they might come to know Him as Father, saviour, and friend.
How is it that God has worked in your life? Who is it that he has moved into your path when you were going through a period of disruption? Whether you have been walking with Jesus for 12 months or have never known a day without Him. How has he moved you to himself during those trailing periods? And who has he used to do that?
As we move into our next series, let us think about what’s your next step. What’s Dapto’s next step? How might we feature in someone else’s story and their journey with Jesus?
