Sowing Kingdom Seeds through Life Lessons

Sometimes I wonder what it is that a person really learns after living life for over six decades. Well, below is a list of things that have recently come to my mind and you might be able to relate:

1.       Stay humble…“Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.”(Proverbs 3:7).

As one writer said, “If you are blessed with wisdom beyond your years, always stay in a humble mindset. The Bible is very clear that God resists the proud but blesses a humble heart. Age encourages you to be wise and to be willing to take wise correction.

2.       Stay away from temptations…“Keep your way far from her, and do not go near the door of her house.” (Proverbs 5:8)

If there is anything one learns over time it is simply this….stay away from temptation, especially the door of the one who will lead you astray. In fact, you can apply this principal to just about all areas of life.

3.       Don’t hold resentment or grudges…“Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.” (Proverbs 10:12)

I really like this one and it is one of the best things is to do to ensure that you remain at peace with everybody. If someone has wronged you but not repented, do not dwell on what they did to you. Move on and give them another chance; it is you who reaps the benefits. This is something that in some circumstances may not be that easy…yet…it will always have a profound effect on you.

Of course, there are many more things that one learns along the way, like: be honest, be truthful, be gracious, be kind, work hard, be open minded, love your family, do not be too quick to judge others and make sure you always repay evil with good.
