Thank You!

This week I’m going to take my own advice from last week. Last week in the newsletter I wrote that we receive the gift of this year as a gift from God by giving thanks to him for that year. A massive part of our 2024 has been this DAC community. While I can’t thank everyone or mention all the people that I am thankful for, I do want to mention some key things. Firstly, a big thank you to Heather and the Empty Nesters for helping with the carols at St Luke’s Village. It is a wonderful example of the way DAC members strengthen and support our partner ministries. Thank you to all those who helped with the DAC Carols, particularly with the last minute move of locations. Thanks to the Best is yet to come ministry particularly in supporting our mission partners. Thank you to those who volunteer and help at our Op Shop. This is a wonderful way to share God’s light with the community. Thank you to the kids and youth teams as well as musos for all services who carry a large load of service throughout the year.

Thank you to those who lead various ministries, particularly those who roster for those ministries. Administration is a wonderful gift to a community such as ours. A particular thank you to Julie as she oversees Safe Ministry here at DAC. Thank you to all who faithfully serve, week in, week out in a multitude of ways on the various rosters that make our community life at DAC happen; to those who help in the services and those who help out around service times and mid-week. Thank you to our wardens and parish council in guiding us in this transition time and particularly for the nominators who have worked tirelessly and sacrificially this year. Thank you to our Acting Rector Ian Barnett for providing leadership and guidance this year. He has prepped us well as a staff team and church for Mark to start in April. Thanks also to the staff team who have adapted very well and graciously to this new fella writing this newsletter, me.
