The Boyleys Arrival and Induction Service

The Boyleys have officially moved into the rectory! Thank you to all those who have helped them in this process. Mark will have his first day in the office on April 1st, no fooling, and spend a week onboarding and setting up his office - lots of administrative tasks. The week will end with his induction on Saturday the 5th, a wonderful chance to celebrate the beginning of his ministry here in Dapto. We are excited not only to welcome Mark and Susan but also to use the event as an opportunity to reflect on church and the way God is at work through his body. The service includes promises that Mark will make regarding his role as a presbyter and the duties required. These promises include the promise to teach God’s Word, which bears witness to the salvation we have in Christ. It also includes ensuring that proper doctrine is upheld, the right use of the sacraments and discipline, combating false teaching, diligence in prayer, and being an example of Christ in all aspects of life. The making of these promises is followed by prayer, for as Mark undertakes this vocation and for us as a church as we support him. Mark’s induction service on Saturday will be followed by his first Sunday with us, where he will preach at all three services on April 6th. These are exciting times, indeed. Praise God for how he has been at work in not only the search process but also all the things needed to bring the Boyleys and Dapto Anglican to this point right now.
